PHOENIX

We are all born equal,

Everybody says it, it's so devoid of meaning.

You're the first one screaming,

The second the man next to you decides to exercise his freedoms.

No victim, no crime – all the law you need,

Yet majority proceeds with no reason nor rhyme.

Skynet has taken over. This is John Connor.

If you're listening, you are the resistance.

I don't believe in your highness' well spoken words of kindness,

Designed to be leading people deeper into blindness,

Make them close their eyelids to a manufactured crisis,

To make you want to fight is why I write this.

I believe in me and you, that's all,

And in Karma, Nirvana only seems to be afar.

Every ascension, every victory worth mentioning,

Evidently is preceded by the fall.

Are you receiving not your call, are you leaving not your walls,

For fear of getting lost,

For fear of getting hurt,

Showing weakness, taking too much heat and getting burned?

I see why you're concerned:

You have met too many people who have treated you like dirt.

Well, they might burn you to ashes,

Need I remind you that's what the Phoenix was at first.

We are all born naked, that's how we should say it,

To remind us, how ridiculous we sound when we are claiming,

Somebody should be reigning, to make this country great,

And pave the way, and save us from the demons they created.

This country's just earth, you're borders

Just imaginary lines in the dirt, oh, how easy can the brain be fooled?

Your way can only be paved by you, with a little help from your friends,

But certainly not from some crazy dude,

Or chick for that matter, who thinks she holds the scepter,

Screaming, 'Off with his head!', I'm not fazed like the hatter,

Because if she can't see that there was spirit before matter,

Her words are but chatter. I don't believe in your highness.

And in Karma, Nirvana only seems to be afar.
